Tiny tots is for our youngest of dancers (ages 3-4). In this ballet and tap combination class dancers will learn the fundamentals of dance as well as the basics of being a dancer in a class. We focus on the beginning stages of technique, listening skills and cooperative learning skills.
Glitterbugs dancers (ages 4-5) will build upon the technique skills that were established in Tiny Tots. More focused will be placed on combining skills together and retaining information. Dancers are expected to listen and work well together to establish a safe and engaging environment for all students.
Sparklers begins the preparation for level classes. For these dancers (ages 5-6) level classes are still a few years away but the process of preparing them for more concentrated technique work has started. Once again we will continue to add on to techniques learned in previous classes. In this ballet and tap combination class they will begin to focus more on posture, flexibility as well as technique.
This is our first ballet, tap and jazz combination class for dancers (ages 5-6). Expectations for this class are the same as for sparklers but in this class there is the added genre. Dancers will begin to learn the basics and fundamentals of jazz and continue in their progression of ballet and tap.
Our rockets dancers (ages 6-8) are one more step away from our level classes. Therefore expectations are higher and they will be learning more than ever before. In order to move up they will need to retain previous techniques and be able to apply them to new elements and skills. While there is more focus on technique it is still our goal to retain an element of fun, using games and activities to teach and inspire.
Rocket hop dancers (ages 5-7) will work on the same level of skills as Rockets dancers, however they will be focused on Jazz and Hip Hop.
Powerkids is our last class before level classes begin. It is in this class that our dancers are expected to begin to learn techniques and elements that will be continued and perfected in level classes. This is a two way combination class with an option to add a third technique for an hour and a half class. We want our dancers to be prepared and well rounded when the enter level classes.
